When should I choose this series?
NU Cylindrical Series should be selected according to the load and speed balance of your operating conditions. Compare your application's bore, load capacity and speed requirements against the values in the stat bar; if you are unsure, our expert team will help you determine the right model.
What are the lubrication requirements?
Standard types are lubricated with oil or grease. ZZ and 2RS shielded models come factory-packed with grease and require no re-lubrication for life in most applications. Periodic grease replenishment is recommended for open types; set the lubrication interval according to operating temperature and speed.
How is it mounted?
Bearings should be mounted onto the shaft and housing axially, pressed with even force. Avoid impact or striking directly with a hammer; use a suitable mounting sleeve or the thermal expansion (heat mounting) method. Make sure surfaces are clean and burr-free before mounting.
What is the service life?
Service life depends on the applied load, speed, lubrication quality and operating temperature, and is calculated according to the ISO 281 standard. Catalog values are reached with correct selection, clean mounting and regular maintenance. Overload, contamination and insufficient lubrication are the main factors that shorten service life.
